Sam Price-Rees

For me, my inspiration comes from the outdoors, nature and exploring the world around me.

Photography is a way of immersing myself in my surrounds allowing a unique perspective of landscapes. Seeing through the lens enhances my awareness and appreciation for details that otherwise would be overlooked.

I have had the pleasure of helping others develop an understanding and relationship with the environment through my work in Outdoor Education and Ecology. Now, the art of photography enables me to share nature’s unique, fleeting moments as well as instil a sense of discovery.

Armed with my fully manual now vintage Pentax K1000 35mm film SLR camera, my initial passion stemmed from traditional black-and-white photography and slide film inspired by the captivating images of greats such as Edward Weston and Ansel Adams. Since moving into the digital world with my DSLR, I hope to continue to utilise my camera as an inspirational tool to help shape how people view places.

My photographic portfolio spans many corners of Australia's vast wilderness.I hope you enjoy my work and can see the story each image has to tell.
